Houston, We Have Internet!!

We finally have internet that works!! Yay!!! I was starting to get really tired of internet that took a year to load a page. But, Tyler found us a better solution and its working much better!!

Here are some of the pictures that I have been wanting to share but haven't been able to until now because of the internet situation.

Here is the beginning of our garden that we planted the first week of June, everything is much bigger now. 

A "before" picture of our kitchen. We didn't do much other than paint, and take off that awful wallpaper! (Did you notice that the previous owner painted around the fridge?? She did that in a lot of places in the house. Like everywhere. She painted around the curtains in the living room and the shelves in the baby's room. Needless to say, this all has either been repainted by us or will soon be repainted.) I will post an "after" once we have everything unpacked and in it's proper place, aka as soon as Tyler finishes the construction of the stairs, more on the stairs later.

 A "before" picture of the living room. I didn't get a very good shot to demonstrate why we were going to repaint, but you can kinda see on the wall on the left at the bottom where there's a random white spot where she painted around the cords for the sliding blinds. We repainted and replaced the carpet. If ugly was a color then that is the color of this carpet. Not to mention it was old. Probably hadn't been replaced in 10  or 15 years, and she had a dog in there that messed everywhere (we found this out once we ripped the carpet out). I'm super glad that we replaced the carpet even though it cost us quite a bit, I feel a lot better about our baby eventually crawling around on the carpet now.

 After we tore out the carpet we found that the stairs had been poorly built and it didn't make sense to know that there was a problem there and just put carpet over it so Tyler decided that he's going to rebuild our staircase. This wouldn't be a huge deal except our laundry facility is downstairs which means that since he ripped out the stairs and the washer and dryer are in our garage that I am doing all our laundry at a laundry mat. Which wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't 28 weeks and 4 days pregnant and growing ever larger by the day. Needless to say, I really hope this project gets done sooner rather than later. I know that Tyler is more than capable of doing all the work necessary, it's just an issue of time. Tyler works 50+ hours a week and has to sleep and eat sometime. I can't blame him for not having it done yet, he has so much on his plate and is doing a great job juggling everything to try to get it all done as soon as he can. You can kinda see the new carpet that we put in at the top of the stairs.

 This is part of the downstairs, the part that will be our "family room" as soon as the stairs are completed and everything can be moved to its proper location.

I love our new house and being a homeowner!! We are so happy that we are where we are :)

Good News!!

Tyler found us a better internet option!!! Hooray!!!!! The only downside is that we are without internet until the equipment for it gets here :( but I'm totally ok with that if it means internet that's actually reliable!

I have been trying to post ALL WEEK! But our fancy schmancy sattelite internet (which is the only thing we have found that we can get out where we are at) is basically slower than dial up. That's right. I have some awesome pictures that I have been trying to upload but after waiting over 1.5 hours last night for ONE picture to upload (it didn't, just in case you're wondering) I decided to give up on the pictures for now and post them later when I'm somewhere with a faster connection or we have different internet that you can actually do something with. A lot of times it takes over a minute to do a google search. Not even kidding. Slower than molasses.
We absolutely love our new house! We are kinda out in the country, but not really. We are only like 10 min away from the interstate and a major shopping center and only 15-20 min away from several other large shopping centers, so relatively close to everything that we need to be. It has definitely taught me to plan my trips out a little more to consolidate everything so that I am not making a million trips everywhere and wasting gas all the time. Our projects are coming along with our house. Tyler has been working on remodeling the staircase that goes to our downstairs which means that we don't really have access to the basement right now. The downside with that is that our laundry room is down there and our washer and dryer are in the garage until we can finish the stairs enough to get them down there. This also means that I have to go to a laundromat to do our laundry :( I'm not a fan of that but I know that Ty is doing his best to get the stairs done and to do it all the right way (the whole reason they need redone is that they weren't done the right way to begin with). I'll just have to put up with it for a couple more weeks (hopefully) until he has everything finished. We have a couple other projects that we are working on as well. Last night I tiled and grouted our entryway. That was a really cool experience for me to learn how to do that and do it well. We also have to put some trim around the windows, long story but basically we are re-trimming the windows because no blinds would fit in them with the way that the trim was before, and we like privacy and therefore blinds so we are redoing the trim. After that we will have all the major stuff done. I have little things to do, like paint three doors, clean some stuff downstairs, paint Baby Girl's room and things like that but it's all coming along :) all those are things that I can do while Tyler is working on the stairs and the window trim.
All in all, we absolutely love it and couldn't be happier with the way that things have turned out for us! We have so much to be thankful for!

Baby Update

Baby Girl and I had a Dr appointment yesterday. My doctor says that she's looking really good, everything is developing the way that it should and that her heartbeat is perfect. She also said that Baby Girl is head down already, which is good but Baby is small enough that she could still flip around and be in a breach position until I am about 35 weeks along. I think she has been head down for about a month now because I can feel her little feet up in my ribs and that seems to be her favorite place to be so I kinda feel like she'll stay that way. I'm doing pretty well with everything, I'm still feeling nauseous a lot of the time. I have been drinking protein shakes three times a day (for those of you who like math, that's 75 grams of protein a day), which helps, but doesn't completely get rid of the nausea. It's manageable though, most of the time. I just have to leave extra time in my day to go and lay down if I start to feel really sick. Nothing really keeps it completely away, but drinking water and protein, making sure that I'm eating enough and getting enough rest, and drinking a caffeine free coke if I feel really sick all help to make it more bearable. I've come to terms with the fact that I am probably going to have morning sickness until she is born and that's just the way that it is going to be. I've accepted that and as long as I can manage it and keep most of the nutrients down that she needs to grow then that is totally alright with me. I can deal with morning sickness, its just part of being pregnant but the main thing that I worry about is making sure my little girl is getting everything that she needs in order to be healthy and have the best start in this world that she possibly can. My prenantal vitamins still make me throw up every time I take them so I have just been focusing on eating things with lots of good vitamins in them so that she gets everything that she needs. No point in taking vitamins just to throw them up. That's some expensive throw up right there ;)
Other than that I have been having a few contractions, nothing too painful, mostly just uncomfortable. My dr says this is pretty common especially in the summer months and with as hot as it has been in Boise for the past couple weeks. I only have a 3-5 of those a day and they only last for about 30 seconds. Yesterday marks 27 weeks exactly for me and Baby Girl. At the Doctors office yesterday they weighed me and I weigh 130 lb which puts me at having gained 18 lb so far, which I feel like is pretty good for me. I haven't been trying not to gain weight, I pretty well eat whatever I want when I want and most of the time I am too tired to to do any exercise (even though I know that I should be exercising anyway).
I feel lots of kicks and movements from Baby Girl, I don't know if its just because she's my first baby or if what I'm thinking is really the truth, but I feel like she's really strong already. She kicks and moves so forcefully sometimes that its hard to believe that she's really as little as she is. I'm happy to have her kick and I love feeling her movements and knowing that she's growing and is healthy and strong while she's in there :)
Tyler likes feeling her move too, he's really cute with her already and talks to her and interprets her little kicks as responses to his questions ;) I can't wait to see him with her when she gets here, he's so sweet and loves her already and it will be a beautiful thing to see him grow into the father of our children. I think that she really likes hearing him talk, she always moves around more than normal when she can hear him. I wonder if she already can recognize that he is her Daddy. I don't know if this will be the case or not but I already feel like she's going to be a little Daddy's Girl. She also reacts a lot to classical music, which I think is wonderful. Whenever I put on my favorite symphonies or teach a lesson or play my instruments she moves more than usual as well. I hope it's because she likes the music because with me as her mom, she is going to be hearing lots of it throughout her life =)
We have most of the big things that we need for her. We found a stroller. Decided on a Jeep all terrain jogging type stroller that we found for a really good price on Craigslist. We have a car seat on the way and a friend is going to be giving us a crib. I have also decided on the paint color for her room, all I need to do is purchase the paint and do the actual painting. And because of the gifts that we received over Memorial Day, she has most of the clothing items and blankets that she will need for at least the first few months, and I know that my mother in law has more clothes picked out for her, so we are set for quite a while :) I've been so grateful for the love and support that all my friends and family have shown to us throughout this pregnancy so far. We have surely been blessed. We are so happy to be having a little girl and are so excited to meet her and have her as a part of our little family forever!

Memorial Day Weekend Trip North and Our New House!

This Memorial Day weekend we drove to Coeur d'Alene to see Tyler's parents and also spent a couple days in Spokane with my family. We had a wonderful time, I was so happy to make the trip and get away from some stress of things that have been going on. It was a very nice, relaxing weekend.
First stop: Coeur d'Alene with Tyler's parents.
We got to Cd'A on Friday and when we got there we learned that Tyler's mom Terry decided to plan and throw me a surprise baby shower! And I definitely was surprised! I knew that she had some baby stuff for us but I didn't have any idea that she would throw a shower! In attendance were Tyler and I (obviously), Tyler's sister and her family, Tyler's parents, and Mary who is a dear family friend. It was incredibly sweet of Terry to throw me a shower, I was so happy I almost cried several times. And she totally spoiled our baby girl rotten! She will be the best dressed little girl :) Here are some pictures from the event:

Saturday we spent the day hanging out with Tyler's parents. Tyler and Scott went on a bike ride and Terry and I went shopping for maternity shorts for me. We also stopped at the fabric store and found a pattern to make a blessing dress for Baby Girl! :) So much fun!
Sunday we went to church in Spokane with my family, had a nice lunch together, hung out, went on a nice walk and then watched the movie Wreck it Ralph as a family. We had a great time!
Monday we had a quick breakfast at a cool restaurant in Spokane called Frank's Diner. It used to be a railroad car but they decomissioned it and turned it into a restaurant. The food is really good there! Shortly after that we drove home and made it back to Boise safe and sound.

Tuesday was eventful as our first full day back in Boise. I had to teach and also had  five appointments to show apartments and we signed the papers for our house! We got the key to it on Wednesday after the funding and recording were completed! We are so excited to move in and make it our home :)

We will have another eventful weekend as some family from Alaska are in town and we are helping my mom to move back to Boise from Twin Falls. Then we will start moving on Monday! Next week I am also staff at the Boise State Chamber Music Camp, so it will be interesting (and tiring) to try and get everything done that we need to in order to complete our move!

Baby Update

Had my appointment with St. Als Maternal Fetal Medicine today and they said that everything looks great with baby girl and that we shouldn't worry about the little spot they found, they said that lots of perfectly normal babies have this and there's no other reasons to think that anything is wrong with our sweet little gal :) We got some super cute pics though that I need to post, she's so cute and oh so photogenic! A little show off already! ;) (P.S. Today marks exactly 20 weeks for baby girl, which means we are halfway there!)

Updates :)

A few updates for you all :)
We have been keeping pretty busy. Tyler is working and he usually works between 45 and 50 hours a week, keeps him really busy. He likes the work he does though so it's not too bad. I have been working too. I'm still teaching orchestra at two elementary schools in Kuna. I've really liked doing that. Things have been really busy with my teaching because I put on a recital so that my kids would have a chance to perform what they have worked so hard to learn. We had a recital for my private lesson kids last Thursday and then yesterday (Monday) I had a recital for my elementary school kids. All of my kids at both recitals did very well, I'm proud of all the hard work they put forth to accomplish what they did. I have a great group of kids in the elementary school and in my private lesson studio.

These are from the recital I had at the school last night for my grade school kids. They all looked so good and played very well! So proud of all their hard work!

George, our barking squirrel friend, was really hot one day (it was 90 degrees in Boise in the middle of May!) and he was being so funny laying on the roots of his favorite tree :)

We made first aid/emergency kits for FHE a couple weeks ago. We made one for Tyler's work truck, Tyler's car, my car and our house so that if we needed emergency supplies we would never be without.  They have things in them like: a poncho, rubbing alcohol and cotton balls, bottles of water, emergency whistle, toilet paper, tissues, glow sticks, hard candies, medical tape, gauze, and more.

We have had really warm weather, had a few stretches of 90 degree days. During some of those days we went on a walk in the park close to our house and found some baby ducks :)

We found out last Tuesday that our baby is a little girl :) We are so very excited to have a little girl come to our family! Things are going well with this baby, I'm growing (obviously!) and I've gained about 10 lbs so far. We had our big ultrasound where they do all the measurements this past week and they found something on baby girl that might be a problem, but my doctor said that most of the time when they find this particular thing it ends up to be nothing. They are referring me to a high-risk obstetrician to take a closer look at things just in case. We just keep praying that baby girl is healthy and strong and that everything is developing the way that it should. Even if something is wrong, I'm comforted that we live in an age of great medical technology that would make it so that anything that's wrong could be taken care of a lot more effectively.

And last but not least, we are moving! That's right! On May 29th we close on our first home! We are super excited to be home owners and have more space that we can do what we want with :) Our house is in Nampa, ID. It has three bedrooms and 1.75 baths, is almost 2200 square feet and sits on nearly 2 acres of land. We are really excited to move there! I love the house and the location is great for everything that we need. And we'll now have enough space for baby girl :) We are in a 2 br apartment right now but since Tyler works from home, one of our bedrooms there gets taken up as office space for him and the other bedroom is ours. Baby girl wouldn't have had a bedroom! In this house there is a perfect office space for Tyler's work so that one of the bedrooms wouldn't get taken up as an office, so we'll still have use of all three bedrooms and will also be able to have a good work space for Tyler.
