Update

These last couple weeks have been crazy! I'm glad that things are starting to slow down.
First things first, Tyler had and interview today and they decided to offer him the position. We fasted two months in a row and have been praying that he would get a job since graduation. I'm so glad that it has finally happened! Our finances were starting to get really tight and we were starting to use more and more of our food storage. I'm glad that we had it but really hoped that we wouldn't have to use it for a long time. He is going to be working at Hardware Sales and Service here in Boise. It is a locally owned company with potential for him to expand up into the Lewiston, ID area, which we would love. He will be training to be a project manager and will do things like bid on jobs for the company to do and things like that. Downside, no medical benefits. So he better not get sick or anything cause that would not work too well. The hours are nice though, Monday through Friday 8-5. Not too shabby. That's about all I can remember about it.
My job is going well. Keeping me busy at least. I have learned a lot and how to do a lot of the things that they want me to do and I think I pretty well have a handle on the basics of it. Of course, I still have things to learn and I'm sure that I will have some difficult situations to deal with. I also have the opportunity to make some extra money if I fill apartments quickly, make sure apartments are ready for move in, have people renew their leases and things like that. It's a pretty sweet gig. I have a few students that I am teaching as well and it's nice to have that little bit of extra money coming in.
We had a really nice Fourth of July celebration. We mainly just took the day off and hung out, went to the park for a little while and threw around a football and a Frisbee, then went to my Grandparents house for a BBQ and then watched the fireworks from the top of the Brady parking garage with my Aunt and Uncle. We had a great time :)
No other news. I'll be sure to do a better job at keeping you all updated :)

New Beginnings

I started this post on Monday and here it is Saturday and I'm finally getting around to finishing it. They have been keeping me soooo busy with this apartment manager job. I don't mind, but man, this week has been super crazy and I've been so busy that its been hard to find time to eat and sleep enough. Things will get better though. Not quite unpacked but definitely close. We had trouble getting a truck to move everything, but thanks to a good friend from our ward and her husband we were able to get the rest of everything moved in just fine. It took us 5 days though, lol. Oh well, you live and learn. Next time we'll probably rent a truck instead.
I love our new apartment! And here are some of the reasons why:
1. Dishwasher. At our old apartment we had to pull the dw out and hook it up to the sink in order to do the dishes. It literally took up half the kitchen when we had to pull it out making it so that you couldn't do anything else Thank goodness we don't have to do that anymore! I'm so grateful for a dw that is already hooked up to a water supply and a drain.
2. Closets. In our old place we had a teeny closeting the spare room and a little larger closet in our bedroom. No linen closet or coat closet of any kind. Well, our new place has everything I could ask for. The closet in the spare room is larger than the two closets from our old house combined. The one in our bedroom is nearly twice as big. AND, we have a linen closet and a coat closet. I. Love. It.
3. New carpet. They replaced the carpet right before we moved in. The new stuff is really nice and really makes everything look a lot brighter.
4. New linoleum. They replaced all the linoleum too, looks super nice.
Really, I just like everything. It's a great apartment.

Tyler has been working hard to finish our dining room table. It's looking so good, I've been very impressed with his work. I had no idea my husband was such a talented wood worker. He's a stud.
I've done some things I've never had to do before with this job this week. I've had to turn down applicants and tell them they couldn't rent here because they didn't meet our criteria. I showed an apartment three times in the space of an hour and a half in the middle of my dinner, hence me saying I don't even have time to eat and the reason why my jeans are fitting more loosely already. I did approve a couple applicants. And, last night I collected my first deposit for a new apartment :) I get bonuses for how quickly I fill apartments and I plan on trying to get a lot of those :) with Tyler still not having a job we can use all the extra cash we can get. Don't worry though, we have savings and food storage, so we'll be alright until my financial aid for the fall goes through.
Well, life is good. I like the new job and the new place to live. And, most importantly, I love my husband. Couldn't ask for a better one :)
