Look who is home!!!
Yeah, that's right =)
Tyler is home! And I'm super happy about that! But, we found out today that he has to leave again. Friday. Dumb. He has two more days of training in northern California and he will get home from that around midnight on Saturday. Still not happy that he is leaving again so soon and not happy that they didn't tell us about it until today but I'm glad it's only for two days. He was going to sing at our ward Christmas party on Saturday night but will have to miss out this time because of this little bit of extra training.

Random Pictures form the past few months =)
When Tyler first started his training for his new job I drove with him to Coeur d'Alene where we visited with his parents for a while. He went on to Kalispell, Montana to do his training and I stayed in Spokane with my parents for a few days and had some fun with them before I flew home to Boise. Here are some of the pictures that I took when I went with my dad up to Mount Spokane.
You'll notice that Dad appears three times in the two pictures below ;)
And if you look carefully, I'm in this one three times ;)
These pictures were taken in Glacier National Park from the time that I went and visited with Tyler while he was completing his training in Kalispell.
Look at the difference in height between Tyler and I in the next two pictures. The difference should theoretically be the same but it is not. We didn't move the camera in between taking these two pictures.
This is a cute little bunny that kept following us around when we were visiting the vortex in Montana.
We went hiking in Kalispell in a national park (can't remember the name of it) and this is the view from the top of the mountain.
We took some pictures for our Christmas cards in a park that we found in Kalispell. We took them ourselves with the camera sitting on a tripod and using the timer function on the camera.
My friend Rachael and i went to a BSU football game and had a great time.
These were pictures taken of Tyler and I when he was home early from Kalispell. These were taken by my good friend Angel who also took our pictures last year. She isn't a professional photographer but she fooled me! These look great!
A job for Tyler, a job for Rylee and Thanksgiving
So, I suppose I should post on our blog a little more. I haven't really felt like talking about much but there are a few things that have happened that I'm sure some of you would like to know about.
First of these things is that Tyler got a new job. One of my friends saw a posting for an engineering job while she was on Craigslist and she texted me about it and told me to have Tyler take a look at it. I thought that it probably wouldn't be something that he would like and it probably wouldn't even be in his field of engineering. But I told him to take a look anyway. He looked at the posting and it was the perfect job for him. Almost too good to be true. It was an applications engineer position that would keep us in Boise with a company called Captive-Aire and the position was full time and had benefits and almost doubled the salary he was currently getting at Hardware Sales and Service, where he had been working for the last year. Captive-Aire manufactures, designs and sells commercial ventilation equipment for restaurants And he was really interested in the work. He liked that it was a mixture of a bunch of different things, that he wouldn't completely be tied to a desk all the time. He would get to go out and service the equipment and he would also be selling the equipment, which he liked a lot because he's had sales experience and was pretty good at it and he really likes talking to people. So he applied for the position and within a couple of days they were calling him for a phone interview. Immediately following that phone interview they contacted him wanting a second phone interview a couple days later. And by the end of the week they asked for an in person interview and made the arrangements for him to fly to their headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. He did fly there and had a series of interviews with a few people in Raleigh, one of those people being the president and CEO of the company, Bob Luddy. Within 24 hours of him getting home from his interview he received an email from one of his contacts there extending to him an offer of employment. Thus, in about a week and a half, our lives changed immensely. Part of getting this job was going through their training program. They said they would pay for all his travel and lodging and even reimburse him for the money he spends on meals. They originally told us that it would take 6-8 months for him to complete the training. We agreed to this even though we knew that it would mean being apart for that time. As things progressed and the training schedule was set in stone, it ended up that he wouldn't be gone for as long as we had anticipated. His training would take a mere two and a half months to complete. Which was definitely good news since neither of us were really excited about him being gone for training for 8 months. They scheduled for him to be in Kalispell, Montana for a month, Raleigh, North Carolina for a month, home for a week for Thanksgiving, and then in Houston, Texas for another two weeks. They ended up changing the month in Raleigh to two weeks and then sent him to Redding, California for two weeks after that. So he was in Kalispell for a month and I drove up there to see him during that time, I had a really great time up there with him and was able to spend a little less than a week with him. They ended up sending him home from Kalispell early which I was super grateful for, he came home after three weeks and had a week at home before they sent him to Raleigh. I went to see him in Raleigh as well, but this time I was only able to spend a couple of days there. Then in between Raleigh and Redding he was home for about a day and a half before he had to fly to Redding. Then home for a week for TG, during which we went to Spokane/Cd'A (I'll tell you more about that later). At the moment, Tyler has completed the first week of his training in Houston and will be coming home for good a week from today. I will be so happy to finally have him home.
It's been kinda hard for both of us to be apart, but I think that it has strengthened our relationship in many ways and made us both realize how grateful we are for the time that we do get to spend together and how grateful we are in general to have each other in our lives. It has been hard because they keep him pretty busy during the training and that doesn't leave us much time to talk in the evenings, and a lot of times I have things going on in the evenings, like symphony or quartet rehearsals. I miss him greatly because a lot of the time I spend alone because I didn't have much going on with my apartment managing job or my lessons. I was able to get another job though while he was gone and that has been a good experience for me. One of my students parents told me about a job opening teaching orchestra at a couple of the elementary schools out in Kuna. I called and told them about who I was and my education and they interviewed me and offered me the position a day later. The only down side about it is that they are hardly paying me anything, so I am pretty much just doing it because I want to give back to the school district that I graduated from and help these kids to have a good education in music where they wouldn't be having an orchestra if I didn't. I like it for the most part, there are pros and cons to it but its mostly pros. I like teaching and I really wanted the experience to add to my resume so that someday in the future I would be able to get a job teaching orchestra at a private high school.
We had a good time up in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene with family this Thanksgiving. My brother David and his wife Breanne and their three boys were in Spokane for the holiday from the San Deigo area. I hadn't seen David or his family for about six years, hadn't met his youngest boy who is almost 4 years old and David had never met Tyler. It was good to see them all and for them to get to know Tyler. We had a really nice meal prepared by Dad and Linnie. Later that evening we did some "Black Thursday" shopping. We went to Wal-Mart and scored a memory foam bath mat for $5 and a blu-ray movie for $8 and a couple other odds and ends. My sister Gracee and I went to Bath and Body Works where they were having a buy three get three free sale on their perfumes and lotions. So we each got three perfumes and we split the cost. We both also had coupons to get a free item if we spent a certain amount so we were both able to get a free item. They also had a really good deal on their wallflower refills so I got a two pack of refills for really cheap. I love their wallflowers, you plug them in and they make the room, in my case my entire downstairs, smell good for a little over a month. Love them.
So that's about it. Not much else to talk about. :) Things are going well, I'm just trying to stay moderately busy until Tyler gets home next week. Can't wait to have him home again, I've missed him so much!

Everything Happens for a Reason
We've had some new trials come our way the past few months. About a week after my senior recital in the middle of April Tyler and I found out that we would be welcoming a baby into our home around Christmas. I was able to finish school alright without having any sickness or anything, just really tired. After graduation I started to have really bad morning sickness. The Dr gave me some medicine for it and I was able to function without having to lay down all the time because I felt so sick. Everything was going well, the baby had a good heartbeat at my ultrasounds and was measuring at about the right size. Then towards the end of June I went in for a routine 14 week check up. Dr couldn't find a heartbeat for baby. The ultrasound machine was really high tech and we were able to measure the blood flow from my uterus to the baby and there wasn't any blood going to baby. Baby was the size of a baby that would have been 9 weeks and 4 days along and I would have been 14 weeks along that day. We had a miscarriage. I didn't have any symptoms of a miscarriage; there was no bleeding or cramping or anything like that. My body didn't recognize that the baby had died. The Dr thinks that baby died somewhere around 11 weeks and my body just didn't know what to do. We decided to wait to have surgery to see if my body would recognize that the baby wasn't alive anymore and rake care of it like it was supposed to. A couple good friends massaged the trigger points on my legs and in my hands to see if we could get my body to take care of it by itself. Nothing worked. We waited for two weeks after finding out about the miscarriage before I had surgery. I had a D&C at St Al's in Boise on the 11th of July. The surgery went very well, Dr was able to clean out my uterus and I didn't have any complications and I felt very little pain. My stomach was swollen for a little over a week and I couldn't wear my normal clothes, which was more than a little frustrating with all of the emotional grief that I was already in. I was devastated. We tried for a baby for six long months and then lost it around three months. It's been really hard to deal with. I know that God had a plan but sometimes I wish I knew a little more of what was in it and how this is for the best. I have faith that this is what was supposed to happen though, even though it's definitely not what I wanted. It's been a hard couple months since this all has happened but I feel like I am doing relatively well. I have more good days and very few bad days. I'm still sad that this happened and I still wish that this isn't the way it has to be, but I'm happy regardless and I have hope in what is in store for us in the future.

We are very sad to have lost our little baby. We don't know why we lost the baby but the Dr says that this happens in 20% of pregnancies and that theres no reason to think that it will happen again. Its just the body's way of ending something that wasn't going right, meaning that something was seriously wrong with baby. We have faith that this happened for a good reason and that someday Heavenly Father will see fit for a little baby to come down to earth to be in our family.
