Happy 30 Weeks!! and Stairs Update

Today marks 30 weeks for me and Baby  Girl!! That means that there's only 7 weeks until I am full term and 10 weeks until my due date on October 10th!

Baby Girl is almost 3 pounds and nearly 17.5 inches long!

In other news, the reconstruction of the stairs is coming along. In the last few days, Tyler managed to complete the platform!!

He did a very nice job on it! It is very sturdy and much better built than the one that was in there before!! Good job Tyler!!

Pregnancy Update

Me at 29 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I feel so big! And am only going to get bigger :) But that's great, as long as Baby Girl is growing and doing well then I don't mind a bit!

Still feeling sick, mostly in the morning and the evening and anytime that I eat meat or take my prenatal vitamins. I've been craving lots of fruit. Blueberries mainly but also plums, nectarines, bananas, strawberries, and raspberries. Almost any fruit that I can get my hands on. I've also been craving refined sugars, aka candy. Mostly just pear flavored jelly bellies (yes, they must be the pear flavored ones and only the pear flavored ones) and peach rings. That's about it as far as the cravings go. As far as weight gain goes, I stepped on a friends scale on Saturday and I weighed 132 pounds which puts me at having gained exactly 20 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.
I've still been having contractions. Had  quite a few on Saturday that were about four minutes apart. I made sure to call my doctor and let her know what was happening since she had told me at my last appointment that anything closer than 10 min apart could send me into "real" labor. She told me to just rest, put my feet up, and drink tons of water and to rest the next day as well. I did that and within a couple hours I was only having a contraction about every 16 min and within not too long after that I was only having one every 30 min or so. It was such a blessing that I was able to get them to slow down because I would have had to go to the hospital (per my doctors orders when I called her Sat night) if they were 5 min apart or less. I didn't go to church on Sunday, just took it easy and stayed off my feet because I didn't want to stress my body out and have the same thing happen again. Feeling good today though (Monday). Had a few contractions but I've been resting a lot and drinking lots of fluids to make sure that they don't get any worse.

That's all folks!! :)

Animals =)

We are renting our pasture to a farmer to keep his cows on. All the cows are female and pregnant. A couple weeks ago, a momma black cow gave birth to this cute little guy.

Then, yesterday a brown momma cow gave birth to not one but  two!! babies!
Baby One
 Baby Two
 Little Family :)
Two new babies making friends through the fence with the black baby. They are just too cute!!!

We also found a cool frog in our sprinkler box a few mornings ago when we were turning on the sprinklers

House Pics

Here are some pics that Tyler took of our house a couple nights ago.

Kitchen. I was trying to run away when I saw Ty taking a pic of the kitchen.
But then he told me to come back and that the kitchen looked cuter with me in it :)
Current progress on the stairs. Part of a platform is built!

Shutterfly Coolness

5x7 Folded Card
View the entire collection of cards.
I made this card on Shutterfly.com. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Shutterfly?! I get free stuff from them all the time: free photobooks once a year, free address labels a couple times a year, 10 free cards every once in a while, free prints, and sometimes I even get a code for $10 off an order $10 or more! And you get 50 free prints just for signing up! If you don't have an account on Shutterfly.com then you should really consider getting one, I don't think you would regret it! ;)

Dressers and Bookshelves

We had been looking at yard sales for a dresser for our nursery, but what we found instead was a beautiful dresser four our room and an opportunity to re-finish our current dresser for Baby Girl.
This is the dresser that we found at a yard sale, it's in great condition, it was built in 1974 and made of oak! Came with a matching mirror and everything!

This gave me the opportunity to re-finish our old dresser, which I was able to do this morning.
Before:

(You can't really see from this pic, but the knobs don't all match. They're the same general shape and size but drastically different designs)

And after!!!

New knobs!!!

On Saturday, my mom came over and helped me with some painting. We painted two bookshelves and a few door frames.
Here is the finished product of one, all decorated and where it belongs in the house. It looks black but is really just dark brown. I haven't figured out what I want to do to decorate the top yet so it just has the necessities on it for now.

Here is the second one, this one had yet to be decorated and have books on it since it can't be where it belongs in the house until the stairs are finished and everything is where it should be.

I'm really enjoying doing what I can to make our house our beautiful home! :)
