Ameilya

Ameilya told me, rather her "baby boy" which is really her teddy bear, this story today as I was doing her hair and I need to write it here before I forget it, it was so cute!

Obviously not word for word but this is as close to that as it comes:

Once upon a time there was a horsey, he was a really good horsey. And he lived in a big big town. He was a really good horsey. And there was a man, his name was Octopus. He was a really nice man. Then there was a tall beanstalk and at the top there was a giant. The giant said, " Fe fi fo fum, I smell an Octopus!"
The end!

This is the first story I've ever heard her tell so I had to make sure to write it down!

I've been meaning to post an Ameilya update since she turned three and a half at the beginning of April but we've had so much going on that post slipped right through the cracks :( so here is a little about what Ameilya is up to:
She is tall! Some people mistake her for a small 5 year old and then are surprised when she throws a 3yr old tantrum ;)
She has a massive vocabulary
She knows the month and day of her birthday and where she was born, and the months of Daddy, Mommy, and Madi's birthdays
She loves to pretend, lately she has been pretending "appointments" and has us come into her office (room) and checks our teeth to make sure they are healthy
She loves her Teddy, he is her baby boy and she takes very good care of him and is so nurturing towards him.
She prays flawlessly, different phrases every time. Even volunteers in primary and doesn't even need any help.
She loves Madi, always wants to hold her hand when we are walking and gets really concerned when Madi gets hurt.
She loves to color and decorate her pictures with stickers and will often give them to people at church or other people she comes into contact with. Recently she gave one to a nice, helpful woman who helped us with some housing paperwork at the housing office on the military base.
She loves friends and any little boy or girl at the playground is automatically her friend.
She latches on to babysitting age girls (usually at church) and holds their hands and leads them around wherever they will go with her.
She says the funniest things like "Daddy, be sure not to wear my panties" and whenever we walk by a group of servicemen or women in uniform on base she announces loudly "Mom, those are my people!" And also has been pretending to bear her testimony like they do at church and had been saying things like "my name is Pocahontas and I would like to bear my testimony, this is a new house and it is a very good house" and variations of that ;)
She talked about moving to Bahrain (she called it Baffrain) for months and she is really excited to be here, always asking if we are in Manama and different things about Bahrain.
She still loves to read, and will sit and "read" by herself, sometimes she'll even tell me the story based on the pictures.
She love love loves to sing and is constantly making up songs and singing songs from story time and church.
She is also very helpful, and without being asked will come up and want to help unload the dishwasher, sweep, or fold laundry.
She has been learning her numbers and letters like crazy, she can always recognize the letter A and numbers 1-4 and we are working on more. She knows quite a few letters, I just can't remember which one's right now! Mom brain, lol

She is a really good, smart, sweet little girl and I'm so glad she is a part of our family. She makes me laugh every day and reminds me to be kinder and nicer because of how sweet and kind she already is.
We love Ameilya!
