FitOne Inagural Half Marathon

On Saturday I ran a half marathon. It was one of the coolest and hardest things that I have ever done. It was an emotional and life altering experience. Emotional because at every mile marker they had a picture of a child who was sick and had a story about them. It was heartbreaking to see the children who have to suffer through all kinds of illnesses but at the same time heartening because of the great care they receive at the hands of the doctors and nurses at St Luke's. St Luke's Children's Hospital is the beneficiary of the event and it felt so good to be helping, in a very small way.
I was so impressed with all of the volunteers. It felt amazing to, at every mile, have a smiling face and someone telling me that I was doing a great job. There were even some cheerleaders from a local high school who volunteered to cheer the participants. Also the comradery was amazing, so many people there and they were all so nice and helpful to one another. It was such a cool experience.
I ran most of the race, probably all but about three miles of the total 13.44 of the course. My knee started hurting around mile 4 and never let up. I was really disappointed about this because I trained so hard and never had any problems with it and then all the sudden had a lot of pain on the day of the race. I could have finished sooner and stronger if it weren't for my knee. Endurance wise I never really felt like I needed to stop, so that was good. Next time hopefully I won't have any issues with my knee. I am excited to see what I can do when my knee is in good shape. :)
I managed to finish the race in 2 hours and 54 minutes, an average pace of 13.5 minutes per mile overall.

Ameilya is 11 Months Old!

Oh man, she is getting big. I can't believe she will be a year old in another month. So exciting!

Ameilya:

weighs 19.8 pounds

crawls- very quickly sometimes!

pulls herself up

takes small steps while holding on to furniture or someones hands

says dada, nana, baba, rara, gaga, di, and combinations of those syllables

likes yogurt, pasta, cut up grapes, cut up peaches, pureed carrots and peas, bread, cheerios

takes two 2hr naps a day

sleeps 8-9 hours at night

is still nursing a few times a day

likes to play with her toys but prefers discovering new things (aka getting into things she shouldn't ;-)  )

is just barely wearing her 12 month size clothes

is very happy the majority of the time

still only has two teeth

doesn't mind the carseat for short periods but doesn't like being in it for a long time

went on her first plane ride a while ago and did great

flirts with boys (we are in for it!)

loves her Daddy

is curious about everything!

Visiting Ameilya's Great Grandma Noble

Sunday (yesterday) we went to Burley, ID to visit Tyler's Grandma Noble who is the namesake for Ameilya's middle name (Beth). We had a nice time visiting Grandma and she seemed happy to see us as well.

Fun Times Visiting Family

We recently went to Spokane and Coeur d'Alene where we visited all of our parents. We had a really great time there! We got to go out on the boat and wakeboard and water ski, I had never wakeboarded that before and I had a blast learning how to do that. We went on a bike ride with Tyler's dad Scott up the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Like bike ride for exercise, like 24 miles and a few hills that were pretty good size. We had a Labor Day BBQ with Tyler's parents and had a fun time in Spokane at Pig Out In the Park. Here are some pics from our fun time!
