An Entrepreneurially Minded Three Year Old

Ameilya is quite the kid. All of this story happened about three months ago. A little backstory: we were at the mall one day and she saw some nail polish she wanted to buy and I told her that we couldn't buy it that day. She kept pressing and I finally told her that if she wanted it that bad then she could do jobs for me to earn her own money so that she could come back sometime later and buy the nail polish. I didn't think much of it but the next day she asked for a job that should could do to earn money. That happened the following day, and the following day, and almost everyday for about three weeks until she had saved up enough money to buy the nail polish. Sometimes she'd even try to invent a job to do that she could earn money for! She was pretty quick to realize that they had to be jobs assigned by Mom or Dad in order to earn anything ;) We paid her in the local currency, Bahraini Dinar (BD), and she earned a little over 4 BD which is almost $11 USD. She was so excited to go and get her nail polish and we were so proud of her for knowing what she wanted and working hard to earn the money to buy it. Pretty good start for someone who was only three!
